Gong Fu Cha
The art of tea
Come and discover the art of tea through a meditative tasting.
The way tea is drunk in China is very different from our Western habits. The Chinese have devoted an extensive body of literature to tea, as well as centuries of research, in order to arrive at the form we know today as Gong Fu Cha.
The tea is brewed using a large quantity of leaves in a small volume of water, in teapots that might look as if they came from our children’s toy tea sets. The leaves are infused repeatedly, gradually revealing the full range of the plant’s aromas.
Our encounter with tea in China came through a series of sometimes exceptional meetings, and we wish here to share our practice of meditation through the ritual of serving tea.
Because meditation is not necessarily a moment of silence, seated cross-legged!
